4. Leave tamarind pulp to soak in hot water until softened for 30 minutes.

5. Grab a handful of tamarind pulp and keep squeezing and squashing to separate them from seeds and fibers. Repeat process with the remaining pulp.

6. With the back of a metal spoon, press as much smooth pulp through a mesh strainer as possible, leaving behind the stringy fibers and seeds.
